Colour in Copenhagen

Construction of the colourful public space Superkilen, designed by Danish architecture firm Bjarke Ingles Group (BIG), has begun in Nørrebro, Copenhagen. Roughly translated as ‘The Super Wedge’, the project aims to encourage multicultural interaction and improve residents’ experience of the city.
Divided into segments that are coloured either red, orange or pink, BIG has used colour as a means of creating interest in a large area, making the Superkilen the focal point of Nørrebro.
