Musei di Carta: 20 Designers, 20 Italian Museums

The rich heritage of Italian art, its history and objects, has inspired an exhibition of products dedicated to its national museums. Musei di Carta involved 20 Italian designers pairing up with 20 major Italian museums to create a prototype for a functional product that relates to each institution or its collection.

Omaggio a Morandi (or Homage to Giorgio Morandi) by Italian architect and designer Ilaria Marelli is a collection of décor items inspired by the Italian artist’s still-life works. Designed for the Museo del Novecento in Milan, the common objects – vases, bottles and bowls – are reconstructed from recycled cellular paper, recreating images from Morandi’s paintings in 3D.
