Launch: Beyond Waste

US space agency Nasa and sports equipment manufacturer Nike have issued an open call for the Launch: Beyond Waste challenge to find 10 game-changing waste management initiatives.

The challenge aims to address current unsustainable practices and encourage innovation, finding new ways to design for zero waste and for reducing waste at the end of a product’s life regardless of industry.

The creators of the ten winning initiatives will be invited to a five-day event at Nasa’s Jet Population Laboratory, California, to further develop each of the innovations, overseen by a panel of 40 thought leaders from science, technology and government.
