Elements: The Beauty of Chemistry

To launch the International Year of Chemistry, Dublin’s Science Gallery is holding an interactive celebration of the splendour of the most basic building blocks of chemical science: the elements.

Elements: The Beauty of Chemistry aims to get the public to look at the subject in a different way through a broad range of events and installations. These include artists’ interpretations of the elements, and an atomic kitchen where visitors ‘cook up’ reactive recipes like crystalline structures.

The exhibition also includes a crowd-sourced periodic table, where visitors are encouraged to bring household items made from the different chemical elements. The exhibition is open at Science Gallery until September 23 2011.
