Maison & Objet

Perhaps it was the blistering Parisian sunshine, or the tremors being felt across Europe as it bickers over the debt crisis, but Maison & Objet felt quiet. There were fewer feet on the ground and less flashy new launches in the halls. It is the January edition of the show that makes the real waves. Trends this time round were less progressive, but safe and, most importantly, buyable. A number of exhibitors were showing for the first time: even at its quietest, this is still the key event for growing businesses internationally.
