My Crazy Scrunchie

New east London-based accessories label My Crazy Scrunchie is bringing back the cult 90s hair accessory with a quirky, Wild West-themed launch video, featuring model of the year Cara Delevingne and fellow London party girls Clara Paget and Suki Waterhouse.

Created by Londoners Laura Fraser and Eu Simo Grijalbo, the brand (known as MCS for short) was commissioned by British designer Vivienne Westwood earlier this year to create scrunchies for her Red Label Spring/Summer 2013 show in London, and are now aiming to take the scrunchie back to the streets.

The notoriously bad-taste accessory suddenly has a place again in fashion’s current ironic, retro mood that’s looking back to the 1980s and 90s for inspiration. Fellow London brand Ashish also showed scrunchies for S/S 13, accessorising its high school geek-inspired collection with sequined versions of the hair tie.

The handmade scrunchies will retail from £12. Watch the video here.
