Colour in Parisian Pavements

Artist Juliana Santacruz Herrera’s interventions with the cracks in Parisian pavements inject a burst of unexpected colour into the city.

Herrera plaits brightly coloured fabrics, which she then uses to fill the crevices that have developed in the pavement’s surface. The unique art form joins guerrilla knitting and gardening in new forms of public artwork that seek to improve the urban environment.
