PFW A/W 13-14: Emerald-Green Styling

As Paris Fashion Week continues, so does the street-style action, with emerald green emerging as a favourite colour on the French capital's streets.

The jewel tone has been spotted on editors and bloggers throughout the Parisian shows, working to add an injection of rich colour to black and navy separates and accessories. With Stylus highlighting Process Green (16-6340) as a key colour for Spring/Summer 2013 in its Bright Tones palette, and Pantone naming Emerald (17-5641) as its Colour of the Year for 2013, it seems the vivid green is enjoying a moment in the spotlight.

Accessories have proved the most popular way into the trend, with the knitted beanie in particular allowing for an easy pop of colour. Socks and bags were also seen in the hue, while more directional looks worked one statement piece in the bright shade for a standout look. Contrasting textures accentuate the opulent hue, as demonstrated by London-based fashion consultant Yasmin Sewell. She teamed her emerald silk culottes with a tactile mohair sweater for textural interest, keeping the rest of her look simple and fuss free.
