Future Hotel Room: ITH Room Xperience

A high-tech hotel room prototype, which was displayed during the Fiturtech tourism trade show in Madrid in January 2013, demonstrated how connected technology could offer a fully customisable and interactive in-room guest experience.

Presented by the Instituto Tecnológico Hotelero (ITH) in collaboration with Spanish design firm SerranoBrothers, the futuristic ITH Room Xperience showroom featured integrated multi-touch transparent screens that can be controlled by the guest’s smartphone.

Global brands such as Microsoft, Toshiba and Bang&Olufsen supported the prototype, enabling the screens to display live news, weather updates, work schedules or photos uploaded directly from the guest’s device. The space also featured avant-garde furniture, a smart-device table and an interactive floor.
