Target Set to Launch New Concept in Los Angeles

LA’s upscale Westwood neighbourhood, home of UCLA, will soon be the first Californian location to trial CityTarget – a more urban-focused version of American retail giant Target’s big-box stores.

CityTarget’s new concept store – smaller than traditional stores at 98,000 sq ft – is set to open in July 2012. It will retain Target’s “one-stop shopping” mantra, but will gear furniture, living essentials, trendy fashion, and exclusive designer collections to a more urban market.

CityTarget plans to open two stores in LA by 2012, one in Westwood and the other downtown, with locations in San Francisco, Seattle, and Chicago set to follow.
