Louis Vuitton Ski Resort, Switzerland

French luxury brand Louis Vuitton has opened a ski-up boutique in the Swiss Alps.
Holidaymakers in the glamorous winter sports resort Gstaad can simply ski right up to the front door of the boutique store, which is located in a traditional ski chalet dating back to 1913. The boutique offers women’s and menswear collections, while fur rugs and a log fire create a homely, alpine environment.
While Louis Vuitton first opened its store in Gstaad in 2004, the new location is set apart from the majority of luxury boutiques in the resort by its domestic architecture and casual, living room interior.
Imitating elite domestic spaces is a practice that many high-end brands are implementing in their flagship stores, as explored in Luxury Brand Temples, while our coverage of Louis Vuitton’s Polka-Dot Pop-Up, the Vuitton Pop-up in Cannes and Louis Vuitton’s Island Store shows that the brand is no stranger to engineering quirky store concepts tailored to a specific locale.
