NY’s The Pod 39

The Pod 39 – a new hotel from US group BD Hotels, located in the building that once housed residential hotel Allerton House – will open in New York in June.

Crafted by New York-based interior designer Vanessa Guilford, the guestrooms take inspiration from planes, trains and ships, and come complete with custom modular furniture.

This common-sense approach to hotel room design and innovation is not just being employed by boutique properties; it has started to influence the likes of Hong Kong-based hotel group Peninsula, which recently refurbished its Hong Kong property’s bedrooms.
