Green Fast Food


The fast-food chain McDonalds has opened its first “green” restaurant in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Pending an international LEED certification from the Green Building Council, the restaurant boasts an automated lighting system, giving a 14 percent saving on energy. Wind energy powers the car park and there is also a rainwater collection scheme, reducing bottled water use by 40 percent. Customers can also be a part of the green philosophy by separating their rubbish in to the appropriate recycling bins before leaving.
