Fat Monk by Lucy McRae

Australian creative Lucy McRae has directed the latest video for electro-pop act Rat Vs Possum. Titled Fat Monk, the music video uses colourful semi-saturated costuming and synchronised dance moves interspersed with shots of swirling liquid colour.

Overlaying projected kaleidoscopic patterns on top of the dancers, the video presents a refreshing approach to moving image that draws from psychedelic art and Op Art – areas that are emerging as key sources of inspiration for today’s young creatives.

McRae’s work with musician Robyn is profiled in the Stylus report Colour in Suspension, and also uses inks and pigmented liquids.
