Building Fashion Take Four

The fourth retail pop-up to grace not-for-profit art organisation Boffo’s Building Fashion space in New York is a collaboration between NYC-based lingerie brand The Lake & Stars, and NYC architects SoftLab.

Garments are displayed within a long, rectangular space that plays on the idea of window-shopping by allowing visitors to peer inside through a series of extruded, blunted, cone-like apertures.

Sitting within a larger empty space on Walker Street in SoHo, the pod-like store-within-a-store structure gives similar emphasis to the exterior as the interior of the store. Inside, the simple white walls catch the rainbow reflections created by the prism-shaped windows. One wall is lined with mannequins, while the other is reserved for railings and tables, stocked up with products.
