DLD 11: Augmented Reality an Everyday Reality?

At least 1.5 billion phones will be capable of AR (Augmented Reality) by 2015, according to Maarten Lens-FitzGerald of Layar, the AR app.

Lens-FitzGerald was speaking on day two of DLD (Digital Life Design) 11, a conference held in Munich. “I believe AR will be seamlessly integrated into everyday life,” he said.

He also announced the January 25 launch of Layar Player – “a piece of code that anyone can put into his or her app without having to point towards the Layar app”.
