Milan 2013: Patricia Urquiola for Kvadrat

Patricia Urquiola, the Spanish doyen of design, launched her debut curtain and upholstery textile collection for Denmark's Kvadrat in Milan last night – with Stylus in attendance at the Moroso showroom.

The designer has a long-standing relationship with Moroso, the Italian furniture brand. Guests stepped into a space surrounded by revolving pillars covered in Urquiola’s new textile designs.

We were particularly taken with Grid – a new wool weave that seems to mimic a digital pattern, but also gives the appearance of uneven wear, creating a very modern finish. Avant-garde Nordic cuisine was provided by Danish duo I’m a KOMBO, while a huge table filled the central space, decked with flowers and accompanied by Urquiola’s new chairs for Moroso.

Milan Design Week runs until April 14.
