Mobile Hospitality

Austrian designers Anna Rosinke and Maciej Chmara of creative group Kollectiv Stadpark are exercising some community spirit with their latest project, Mobile Gastfreundschaft (Mobile Hospitality). The wheelbarrow-cum-kitchen unit has a sink, gas hob, sideboard, and a long table, complete with wooden stools.

The design duo moves about the city – kitchen in tow – and encourages passers-by to sit and eat. Kollectiv Stadpark says the big table spurs discussion and is a great way for people to get to know each other. The project has already visited Vaduz, Dornbirn and Feldkirch in Austria in the summer.

Mobile Gastfreundschaft was initiated and supported by the Austrian design fair ArtDesign Feldkirch, and timber company Tschabrun Wood. For more information on designers flexing their creative muscles to revive communities in the city, see the Macro Trend Control & Create.
