Swiss design studio Detektiv Bureau set up a large-scale artwork installation at its Chicago residency, called Cave.
Throughout October 2012, the group transformed its living and working space by covering the walls, floors, ceilings and furniture in polythene plastic coated in vibrant coloured paint.
Rough and colourful gestural paint strokes covered the flimsy transparent material, turning the space into an immersive environment and a vast three-dimensional canvas. Beds, tables and stools maintained the room’s functionality as a living space.
The installation showed for just two days.
