Fairmont Rolls Out BMW Bikes Worldwide
Lifestyle hotel chain Fairmont Hotels & Resorts is going to roll out its BMW bike amenity scheme to all of its properties worldwide.
The bike programme was initially introduced in 2010 at some of the chain’s North American hotels and has proven so popular among guests that the bikes will now feature at hotels around the world in time for summer.
Produced by German car company BMW as part of its environmental program, the Cruise Bikes retail for approximately £700 (€800). They will be available for Fairmont guests to use on a complimentary basis, complete with locks and helmets.
As part of the hotel brand’s Fairmont Fit programme, guests who are members of the Fairmont President’s Club will also benefit from the use of Adidas exercise apparel, footwear and preloaded MP3 players delivered directly to their rooms.
Luxury hotel group Morgans, recently rolled out Dutch-inspired Public J7 bicycles at selected properties. However, in the UK the focus was less on exercise and more on indulgence – with the simultaneous launch of a takeaway afternoon tea by bike at the group’s London hotels.
