Boutique Hotel Boom

London’s boutique hotel sector is set to double in size in the next two years. The capital will see an estimated 2,544 more rooms added to hotels across the city. That’s according Boutique Hotels Segment – The Challenge of Standing Out from the Crowd, a report by hotel consultancy group HVS London.

New offerings from numerous hotel groups include Meliá’s ME Hotel located near Covent Garden, and Firmdale Hotels’ Dorset Square Hotel, slated to open next January and next May, respectively.

These hotels will naturally benefit from an estimated influx of more than a million visitors during the 2012 Olympic Games.

The HVS report also notes the importance of boutique hotels promoting a sense of exclusivity, with many properties benefiting from partnerships with high-profile chefs, or developing private clubs to cater to guests seeking an exclusive hotel experience.
