Health on Track

San Francisco-based audio accessories developer, Jawbone, has unveiled a wristband called Up that works in conjunction with a smartphone app to monitor the wearer’s health.

Working in real-time, Up is an informative sensory gadget that tracks eating, sleeping and movement. The collated information is then relayed to the app, which is accessible on phones, tablets and computers.

With more than 5,000 medical iPhone apps already on the market, there is no ignoring the current surge in mobile health innovations. See Mobile Health: Empowered Patients for more examples.
